The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program is a federally-funded supplemental nutrition program. WIC supports Florida families by providing the following at no cost:
- Healthy foods
- Breastfeeding support
- Nutrition education
- Referrals to other services
Families are screened for nutritional risk and income eligibility. Licensed nutritionists and nutrition educators determine eligibility and provide nutrition assessment, counseling, and education to assist families in making healthier nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle choices.
