Tattooing is the placing of a mark or design on or under the skin of a human being by a process of piercing or ingraining a pigment, dye, or ink in the skin. Effective January 1, 2012, all tattoo establishments and artists must obtain a license from the Florida Department of Health in Hernando County.
Permits are valid from October 1 through September 30 and must be applied and renewed annually.
