Health Department Announces Relocation of Vaccine Clinic
April 15, 2021
The Florida Department of Health in Hernando County’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Hernando County Fairgrounds is relocating inside to the Florida Department of Health’s Spring Hill location, 7551 Forest Oaks Blvd. for first doses of the vaccine beginning April 21st. The site will transition to a walk-up, indoor clinic; however appointments will still be required.
Second doses will continue at the fairgrounds until May 7th.
Individuals who are scheduled to receive their second dose after May 7th will need to go to the health department in Spring Hill.
As a reminder, individuals 18 years and older can schedule a vaccine appointment at this new location by visiting www.patientportalfl.com or by calling 844-770-8548. At this time, only the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine will be given at the site. DOH-Hernando is asking residents with scheduled appointments to arrive no more than 15 minutes before their scheduled time.
While the health department has been a major provider of COVID-19 vaccination in the community, as vaccine supply increases, a number of pharmacies and doctor’s offices are now available to provide the vaccine. Visit www.FloridaHealthCOVID19.gov for more information about COVID-19 vaccine information and locations in Hernando County.
All residents are reminded to continue to follow public health preventive measures such as wearing a face covering while around other people in public, practice social distancing and thorough handwashing to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 in the community.
