Let's celebrate Earth Day by showing Mother Nature how much we love her!

Hernando County CHIPP, Trash Trek Hernando, Healthiest Weight Florida and the Florida Department of Health in Hernando County invite you to join us in celebrating Earth Day by making a difference in your neighborhood! Cleaning up just a little bit, goes a long way.

Businesses, churches, youth groups, neighborhoods, civic groups, families, and individuals across Hernando County are invited to participate.

Supplies for our Earth Day Cleanup will be available at the health department, 7551 Forest Oaks Blvd. Spring Hill, FL on April 22nd, anytime between 9 a.m. - 5 p .m. You can pick up gloves, masks, trash bags, grabbers, hand sanitizer and reusable water bottles.

To participate, you have three options. For all of them, you will first sign up for your tickets on Eventbrite so we can add them to our total number of participants and then on April 22nd you can either:

A) Individual or small group: Grab your supplies and head out into your neighborhood, park or anywhere you like to walk, and collect the litter you see. Then post a photo on Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #EarthDayHernando (This is a great option if you'd like to pick up litter on your lunch break at work!)

B) Join Trash Trek Hernando between 5:30 P.M. and 8:00 p.m. on the "service road" behind the businesses at the intersection of Spring Hill Drive and Mariner Blvd. There we will provide you with your supplies and we will pick up trash as a group.

C) Can't get out? It's ok! You can share a message, photo or video online with an Earth Day message and the hashtag #EarthDayHernando

And a little bit of legal info:

I understand that by signing up for this event I will not be paid for my services, that I will not be covered by any medical or other insurance coverage provided by coordinators of the Hernando County Cleanup, and that I will not be eligible for any Workers Compensation benefits.I accept any and all risks of injury, illness or infection in connection with my participation in volunteering. I have carefully read this assumption of risk and general liability release agreement, and I fully understand its contents.
